The product was extremely easy to setup, I literally just plugged it into the USB port on my car, and then paired it to my phone via Bluetooth, and tapped "use carplay", and it began working. I did immediately notice that there is a pretty significant input delay, and there is a slight drop in audio quality over just using regular bluetooth, or using wired carplay.
Even with these minor issues, it is still more convenient than using a cable each time I get in the car, however, I do not know if it is worth $120
I was able to just plug and play the device. No update needed. Once my phone established the connection the Apple Car Play worked as if I was plugged in correctly. Really happy I can now use a faster third party charger in my vehicle and still keep the Car Play functionality.
Works as discribed
I first saw this on slickdeals linked to some sketchy aliexpress looking site for $50. I figured I’d pay more and get it faster with a better return policy here. At first I got frustrated because it wouldn’t connect. I almost returned it before realizing I was just being impatient. What I read is true, it does automatically connect to your car. It take a couple of seconds but it works perfectly with my aftermarket pioneer head unit. I love that I can store this in my glove compartment where my car play usb cord is and it works perfectly. I cannot recommend this enough.
Works very well, even though there is about 15-20 seconds startup time, it syncs with my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I do let it completely startup before putting the truck in reverse, that way I can start my music app, instead of using the regular radio stations. I do wish the screen would display the climate control temperatures on the top of the display though, instead you have to adjust the temperature manually to see what your temperature is set on.
I would definitely suggest purchasing this wireless CarPlay adapter!!
